According to official statistics, this was one of the largest competitive examinations held in Uttar Pradesh with over 13 lakh candidates among males and females joining the fray.
On the Guinness aspirations, Joint Director (Family Welfare) and Examination in-charge Dr R Banswal said: "A total of 13,02,155 candidates appeared for the examination, of which 3,92,599 were female and 9,09,556 were male. The number of intermediate students in the UP Board exams was 14.78 lakh, which means this examination was a close second. We are planning to register the examination with the Guinness Book of World Records."
